It's been astounding how fast time is flying these days...
Since my last blog...
I am more than honoured and astounded at all of the amazing people who came together for the One Wave Festival on Sept 26th, 2015. If there was one word to describe the event and our show I'd have to say it would be UNITY.
An amazing moment from the performance. Anneda Loup(me on the left), Francis Dick(right). Photo taken by Coast Salish artist Mark Gauti.
Everything came together at the most perfect timing and it was truly amazing. Big thank you to Hon Chow, Kevan Carlsen, Sean Behnsen, and Kyle Lowther for their magical musical stylings. A very special thank you goes to Francis Dick, contemporary aboriginal artist and a member of the Kwakwaka'wakw Nation, and her entire family for putting their faith in me, accepting me, and allowing me to transform their traditional Kwakwaka'wakw songs into contemporary english (bluesy rock)interpretations. Also I cannot forget to thank Nancy Dawson who graciously allowed me to wear this beautiful Raven mask created by her son Anthony Dawson. Wow is all I can say. I look forward to teaming up with Francis for many more projects to come! The sky is(not even) the limit!
I'm still working on it...and it's coming together! I plan on having a video release party held in Victoria, BC possibly in December or January to kick start a new year of ANNEDA LOUP. Stay tuned...woot woot!
Upcoming performance tomorrow! Saturday, November 7th, 2015
I have been hard at work practicing for an exciting show at the wonderful Gorgeous Coffee. I will be sharing the stage with guitar virtuoso Eric Harper. Tickets are $15 and reservations are recommended. I'll be sure to keep you in the Loup ;) for more awesome things happening!
Much LOVE and Light!!
